Our Scholarship Booklet lists all scholarships that will be available during the school year. Listed below are scholarships that are currently open for applications. All scholarships are available for Seniors only, unless otherwise specified. These scholarships will also be listed in the Daily Bulletin, which can be accessed here.

 

DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS - VC - Eight separate scholarships, all $500 awards unless otherwise specified. Apply online for all scholarships at valleycity.dollarsforscholars.org. Deadlines are all March 30th. 

1. Alliance Pipeline - Must have school & community involvement & academic achievement. 

2. Audrey Mae Brush Brooks - Preference given to those who have not received other awards.

3. Cass County Electric – $1,000. Must enter technical program.

4. Dacotah Bank – Must pursue education in business or financial services field.

5. Dacotah Bank Employees- Must demonstrate financial need and/or difficult circumstances.

6. Jack & Vi Egan Family Scholarship – Must be planning on majoring in science, math, or technology.

7. Sanford Health – Must plan on majoring in health/medicine, nursing, biology, or chemistry/physics.

8. Valley City Lions Scholarship – Must be attending a post-secondary school.

 

REACH (Religious Educators Advancing Christian Heritage) - $250 award based on character, leadership, and activities.  Not based on religious affiliation.  Deadline is March 31st.

 

BARNES COUNTY 4-H - $250 award. Must be member of Barnes County 4-H.  Deadline is April 1st.

 

ORVILLE BARBER MEMORIAL ROTARY (VCSU only) - $400 award to one male & one female. Based on character, leadership, & school & community activities. Deadline is April 1st.

 

BANK FORWARD / INSURE FORWARD - $500 award based on academics, extracurricular activities & community involvement.  Deadline is April 2nd. 

 

AMY (FOELL) HARBAUGH MEMORIAL - $1,000 award to a senior pursuing a career in the health field.  Deadline is April 14th.

 

AGNES EVENSON – Two $500 awards to seniors who plan to pursue an education degree and become a teacher.  Deadline is April 16th.

 

RUTH WHITAKER – Three awards of $500 each.  General requirements based on need, GPA, activities, and career goals.  Deadline is April 16th.

TODD HECK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Two $500 scholarships available for 2 Hi-Liner athletes. Must be involved in athletics and must plan on attending college after graduation. Must write a 500-word essay on “What does being a Hi-Liner Athlete mean to you?” Deadline is April 16th.

SPRING CREEK AG – One $300 award. Awarded to a student pursuing a degree in the agricultural sciences, including but not limited to, farming, ranching, agronomy, agricultural engineering, agricultural systems management, diesel technology, veterinary sciences, etc. Students pursuing a biological degree may also qualify with preference given to the agricultural sciences. Any student who is from an actively farming family, will also be considered. Deadline is April 16th.
